history
In October 1992, Mitsubishi introduced the Lancer Evolution, powered by their innovative 4G63-type intercooler turbo engine. This compact and lightweight Lancer boasted impressive torque figures and featured a 4WD drivetrain.
Over time, significant advancements were made in engine technology, performance enhancements, body rigidity, weight reduction, suspension refinement, and aerodynamics. These improvements contributed to the ever-growing legacy of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.
On January 31, 2003, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation unveiled the Evolution VIII sports sedan in Japan. This launch marked the eighth evolution of the beloved series since its inception in 1992.
